The accused Waris Khan Pathan and Ansar Khan, both residents of Mewat in Haryana, were arrested from Jogger’s Park area in Jamnagar. The area is crowded and some people alerted police after they found them moving around suspiciously near the ATMs. The local crime branch reached there and nabbed the two. As many as 30 ATM cards, which belonged to their friends and relatives, were seized from them.
They confessed to have tampered with ATMs in Bhilwara, Rajasthan in Ahmedabad. Police said while withdrawing money, one of them used to shut off the ATM while another held on to the cash dispensed from the machine. As a result, the transaction status showed as failed.
