In wake of COVID- 19 a meeting regarding sanitisation of banks under the Chairmanship of Mayor Srinagar was held in Central Office of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC)
Meeting was attended by Deputy Mayor, Srinagar, Chairman, Public Health & Sanitation Committee, SMC, Commissioner, SMC, and all the representatives of different leading banks/ financial institutions.Mayor passed on directions that all ATM’S in Srinagar city has to be sanitized.
Special emphasis shall be given for sanitization, fumigation and a recommended chemical spraying (Quaternary Ammonium Chloride). In and around ATM’S and ATM’s in the absence of guards also needs to be closed down.
All the banks of the City shall be sterilized and sanitized and it is the responsibility of all the employees of the banks to ensure frequent hand washing and use of sanitizers along with wearing of protective masks Said Mayor Srinagar.
A mechanism has to be put in place in each and every bank where in people before entering banks will go for hand washing with soap.
Furthermore, he instructed that employees dealing with cash distribution need to take intense care and strictly follow precautionary measures and the transactions for public utility including electricity bills, water connection fees etc shall be suspended till further orders.
Mattu also said that banks falling within the shopping malls and pharmacies shall remain open.
During the course of meeting Instructions were passed on for closure of Adhaarcentre’s within the bank branches till further orders.
Ahead of sterilization campaign against COVID-19 Mayor also held a separate meeting with all the Public Transport Associations and in this regard passed on instructions that all the public transport including Sumos, Autos, Buses, Mini buses etc plying within the jurisdiction of Srinagar City shall be suspended till further orders.
