IrisGaurd, a provider of iris recognition technology, has improved its mounted iris cameras for integrating biometrics with kiosks and ATMs, according to a biometricupdate.com report.
The EyeTrust II scans both of an individual’s irises and conducts matching in less than three seconds. No other ID token is required to conduct a transaction.
The technology can be used for biometrics recognition as well as registration, connecting with different software for the dual purposes.
Earlier kiosk camera mounts were time-consuming and costly to install, Andy Holland, director of research, said in a podcast on the release.
Image capture has been improved by placing the camera at the center of the user’s field of vision at the information screen’s top. The user no longer needs to change position to scan, thereby speeding the process.
